Children will develop several key skills in badminton at our camp, guided by our expert coaches:

  1. Footwork and Agility: Coaches will use agility drills and footwork exercises to help children improve their speed and movement on the court.

  2. Racket Skills and Technique: Through repetitive practice and one-on-one coaching, children will learn proper grip, swing techniques, and shot variety.

  3. Hand-Eye Coordination: Drills that focus on timing and precision, such as shuttlecock control exercises, will enhance hand-eye coordination.

  4. Game Strategy and Tactics: Coaches will organize practice matches and strategy sessions to teach children how to anticipate opponents' moves and develop tactical thinking.

Children will develop various skills in football, including:

  1. Ball Control: Through drills and practice sessions, children will learn to dribble, pass, and receive the ball with precision.

  2. Coordination: Activities that involve footwork, balance and agility will help improve overall body coordination.

  3. Teamwork: Playing in teams will teach children how to communicate effectively, understand team dynamics, and work together towards common goals.

  4. Strategy: Through guided practice and game scenarios, children will learn about positioning, tactics, and game strategy, helping them make quick decisions on the field.

Participating in arts and crafts activities can significantly enhance several key skills in children.

Here are three skills that children typically improve through the support of our expert arts and crafts teacher:

  1. Creativity and Imagination: Arts and crafts provide a platform for children to express their creativity and imagination. By engaging in projects like painting, 3-D drawing or sculpting, children learn to think outside the box, experiment with new ideas, and create unique works of art. This creative expression is essential for cognitive development and problem-solving skills.

  2. Fine Motor Skills:
Whilst creating these projects, children are cutting, gluing, painting, and beading. These actions require precise hand movements, which help in developing fine motor skills. These activities improve hand-eye coordination, dexterity and the ability to control small muscle movements. This skill is crucial for tasks like writing, typing, and other everyday activities.

  3. Self-Esteem and Confidence:
Completing an arts and crafts project gives children a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work. This positive reinforcement boosts their self-esteem and confidence. As they see their skills improve and receive praise from peers and instructors, they develop a stronger sense of self-worth and the confidence to tackle new challenges.

Here are three key skills children will develop in tag-rugby and how our coaches will help them achieve these skills:

  1. Teamwork and Collaboration: Our coaches will organise drills and games that emphasise passing, strategising and working as a cohesive unit. Team-building activities and exercises will also be used to strengthen collaboration and communication skills among players.

  2. Agility and Coordination:
Coaches will design agility drills, such as obstacle courses and ladder drills, to improve footwork and overall coordination.
Tagging games and practice matches will help children apply these skills in dynamic, real-game scenarios.

  3. Decision-Making and Strategic Thinking:Coaches will run scenario-based drills and small-sided games that challenge children to think on their feet and make rapid decisions. They will also conduct strategy sessions where children can learn about game tactics and apply them in practice.
